re-post of MUD BOY

Mud Boy

Mud Boy is a short 10min film on the BBC film network, the story is about a traumatised young girl who makes a chilling discovery at the bottom of her garden

Meana the young girl is put in a difficult position when she realises her dad is beating her mum whilst dealing with her brother disappearance when digging in the garden Meana comes a cross a dead body but what we don't realise until the end is that she has been seeing his ghost

Meana sees her brother as a ghost but believes he's real. Its a really powerful story on domestic abuse.

her a few screen shots of the film...

titles - here you can see the titles of the film, they haven't be made to be clear or bold which is a problem when a view maybe watching it, it also doesn't catch you eye and make you remember it, so this will have to be something we have to think of when it comes to making our titles.

also this shot establishes where the film is see as you can see the fairly modern London houses also the shot focuses on a key prop that is used with in the film, without giving to much a way, I like the way the spade is standing alone which could be used as a metaphor and liked with the young girl as she clearly feels alone and almost lost with her brother who has gone missing.

in this shot you can see the hand of the dead body this shot allows the audience to focus on it and really makes you feel tense and shows just how serious the plot of the story is, I like the way that its surrounded by mud and DEAD  grass and weeds, the contrast int his shot seems very dull and lifeless which almost symoblis the body ( dead, alone , pail , lifeless )

this is what we would call an Arial shot or its also known a birds eye view shot it allows the audience view the action for difference perspectives all in one shot, in this shot I thinks it really clever at the fact the girl is colourful, bright which resembles life whereas the boy is dull and pail to represent that he is in fact dead.

its almost as if its spilt in two

in this shot the camera has been placed over the shoulder of the police officer this is what we call a high angle shot its usually used to so dominance In the character which is exactly what its doing here, it shows that the woman has authority due to being a law enforcer also could be to show that the woman is older and taller whereas the girl is opposite.
