Today I began drafting up the storyboard so we had a basic idea of where everything needs to go due to us wanting to film in late October near Halloween.

As you can see this is our second possible location for the opening of the film, we decided it was a good location because it is in a small village and it also has a small alley way beside the house which noises could come from.
The difference to this house to the other one is that this one is a lot bigger and has a colour scheme of greys,blacks and white which could potentially work as a favour when filming, also the house has a street lamp in front of it which acts a a fantastic place as to where we see the killer in the first 20 seconds of the film.
The reason I have taken some photos of the windows and doors is to show were the shadow (killer in the film) could be shown briefly.

As you can see we have started to look a possible location for the opening of the film, we decided it was a good location because it is in a small village and its a tight community, its also an unexpected place for a murder to occur which makes it a lot more bazaar and unexpected  The reason we have taken some photos of the windows and doors ect ... is to show were the shadow (killer in the film) could be shown briefly. 

We will next look at a similar location to shoot and then decide as a group which one we will choose and film at.

feet walk out from behind the door and approach Carlton

rope it thrown round his neck and is dragged back into the kitchen

in a struggle Carlton elbows the attacker

as he try's to barge past the attacker he is thrown into the kitchen side with force

Carlton become dizzy as the attacker see's an opportunity to kill him he picks up his rope a tries to strangle Carlton

props and design ideas

Here you can see that we have started collecting props and thought about poster ideas and evn changed the name from 31cornwallis avenue to dead hallow.

in this clip you can see that we have already started looking a cheap ways on how to create cuts and wounds, as there's a scene in our film, where I'm thrown into the kitchen side when in a struggle with the killer.

we have also made replica props such as this phone

things such as the lights going out is something that we are definitely going to use in out own film as help create a build tension a almost this sense of not being able to see what lurking in the dark.

we are also going to take the idea of the black figure walking past the camera it all helps to build up the tension and put the audience on there seats



Scream Franchise Summary

Scream is a series of American slasher films created by Kevin Williamson and Wes Craven aka the master of suspense. The films star Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and David Arquette as the three main character throughout the franchise .

Scream features a cast of characters aware of the conventions of the horror film genre and able to use them to survive.

The film focuses on Sidney Prescott as she comes under attack from a mysterious character named Ghostface whilst dealing with the anniversary of her mother's murder.

In 1997 a parody version of the film was made, “scary movie”. In order for scream to retain its title a slasher and to scare it audience and not to be taken as a joke wes craven set about making a sequal later in 1997

The series continued with Scream 2 again written by kevin williamson and directed by wes craven, released less than a year after the original film.

Like Scream 1, the film features old and new characters aware of the horror genre and the conventions of the horror sequel, The film again is about the character sidney prescott, now a college student, as a series of copycat crimes begin, the killers still using the costume of Ghostface.

Due to both film being a massive success in the us as well as here in the uk wes craven and kevin williamson came together for the final installment of slasher series

The film at number 3 still focuses on Sidney Prescott who faces a new Ghostface killer and the truth about her mother that led to the start of the Ghostface killings. The film featured characters who were self-aware of horror conventions but in each film the rules were changed , Scream 3 was considered less successful than the previous two installments scream1 and scream2

In 2011 wes craven yet again paired up with returning producer kevin williamson to produce a brand new trilogy

The plot involves Sidney Prescott returning to Woodsboro which is where the 3 orignal murders took place. As soon as she arrives, Ghostface once again begins killing students from Woodsboro High, including her younger cousin's friends. Sydney, Gale, and Dewey once again team up to stop the murders, but not before having to learn from a new generation the "new rules" of surviving horror films therefor the conventions being

Chapter 4 re-writes the rules or even new generation new rules.

 

Orphan Black TV drama Review

Orphan Black is a Canadian/American science fiction television series starring Tatiana Maslany as several identical women who are revealed to be clones.

It is now being aired on BBC ONE in the UK every Friday night at after the water shed to allow swearing, adult behaviour and sexual references to appeal to a wider audience.

The series focuses on Sarah Manning, a woman who assumes the identity of her clone, Elizabeth Childs, after she witnesses her suicide.

The show’s concept is fairly complicated, Sarah Manning, witnesses the suicide of a woman to who she bears an astonishing similarity. In what is actually a series of well thought-out and well-constructured moments, Sarah steals the women’s identity and starts to live her life.

What she didn’t know was that the woman(Elizabeth ‘beth’ childs) is a suspended detective, has various relationship issues and, importantly, that the detective was investigating a strange connection with several other women that also share an astonishing resemblance to Sarah. 

The series raises issues about the moral and ethical implications of human cloning and its impact on issues of personal identity.

LOVEFIELD short film review

SHORT FILM REVIEW

Directed and produced by Mathieu Ratthe love field is a short film with a run time of 5 mins approx.

The film starts in a calm and what you think is a deserted empty field, as the camera pans down into the field all you can hear is a phone out of signal, then eerie music pours in gradually building up to the point wear a knife a planted in the ground with force next to the bloody tissue and a foot of a woman who sound like she was in pain and almost struggling.

Creepy eerie sounds are used to build up tension and suspicion then leaving you to question why there is a phone randomly laying on the ground. 
non-diagetic sound is also used such as the crow and the woman crying

Another thing that builds up tension without even realizing is the crow the sound it makes becomes louder and quicker then comes to a halt when the story changes and the secret almost has been revealed.

I choose love-field because is a good example of what someone can achieve with a good story-line and the sound effects really enhance the plot and the actions that the characters carry out, also so much but so little is told within the 5 mins it also has a complete twist in the genre from the beginning right through to the end.

harry potter film review

Harry Potter & the deathly hallows pt1

part 1of2 of the absolutely mind blowing franchise HARRY POTTER not only films but books as well and they are just as big.

after 6 books and 6 film harry potter 7 would be the concluding part to one of the best franchise ever made.

the book was made as one, but the film would be spilt into two parts and part 2 having a completely different ending to the book.

made in 2010 directed by David Yates and still starring the original cast members - Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter, Emma Watson as Hermione Granger and Rupert Grint as Ronald Weasley DH prt1 had to set the scene for the 2nd part and had to out beat all the other 6 that had already been made.

With Professor Dumbledore dead and the Ministry of Magic under Lord Voldemorts control, Harry, Ron and Hermione embark on a dangerous mission to search for five missing horcrruxes.

the second to last installment in the epic Harry Potter movie saga is the darkest, most intense yet.

in the movie you can see a few of the recurring characters from the previous films get kills some scenes a particularly grousome and disturbing

avatar film review

Avatar Film Review 

Avatar is a 2009 American science fiction action film written and directed by James Cameron. The film has a run time of 161 minutes, the broadcaster is 20th century fox
The film is set in the 22nd century, when humans are mining a precious mineral called unobtanium on the planet Pandora, a beautiful habitable moon.

A paralysed Marine sent to the moon Pandora on a unique yet dangerous misson to decive the na'vi the speices that call the planet home he then becomes torn between following his orders and protecting the world he feels is his home.

as jake is challenged by the extreme physical challenges of becoming a na'vi warrior on the strange new world, he begins to understand the na'vi and their strong connection to all life on the planet. jake begins to fall in love with there ways and the chiefs daughter
